Apparently it is officially the year of the Goat, Happy Chinese New Year! The year of the goat began with an ATV ride up to the highest point on Boracay. Although the ATV ride was a bit disappointing, Sam had fun driving a dune buggy and then doing laps on their dirt track at the end. Riley even hopped in and rode copilot while Sam ripped around on the dirt track in the buggy. At the lookout point we could see the kite surfing beach and other beaches. It actually gave a great perspective of the island. The look out had a couple of animals too and Sam held an eagle that they said was from the Philipines and petted a huge iguana. Classic side show at the lookout. We then drove down a bit and took the longest zipline here- 600+ meters.
Like in Puerto Rico we strapped on the body harness and then they grabbed us by the legs and swung us out. It seemed a much more sketch operation honestly with the harness feeling like I could slide right out of it.We went flying out from the peak looking down on the ocean and white beaches below. Unlike Puerto Rico when we came near the finish it picked up speed and before I knew it we were FLYING into the end and barely broke our speed before some guy caught us. I was so freaked out as we were coming in hot and I was sure I was going to slam into the backstop wall. When they caught us it was quite a jolt and honestly I could not stop laughing - it was so crazy and the finish was so crazy that all I could do was laugh and then ready my camera for Klane and Riley to come in. The look on their faces as they were approaching us at top speed was classic with Riley's wide eyes and Klane with his hands out in front to break the crash- so funny!
When we were done and after Sam took the dune buggy out for another spin, the van to take us back to our hotel hadn't come yet so we hired a trike to drive us back. The trike we were in was much bigger than the one we drove the other day and it was a fun and cool way to get back to the hotel and my first real official trike ride. The driver carries the money between his fingers the whole time- acting as a wallet and a money sorter, so interesting. I have seen a few drivers do this.
We met up with Allie and Amber on the beach and I took a little snooze on the beach while Sam swam in the pool. Unfortunately the afternoon got rainy and we headed inside to find the Entertainment Center. Games were then on, as we played several doubles matches of Ping Pong and foosball and basketball and air hockey. It was a great way to burn an hour as we were waiting for the weather to pass. I enjoyed a massage in the late afternoon while Sam went back to the room to finish some reading. I told him if he finished his reading I would do a foot spa with him. Well, he finished reading and after my massage I promised him I would take him to town and find a fish spa and I would do it took. He was pumped and it worked! That evening after playing cards and bananagrams with Allie, Riley, Klane and Amber we hopped on a shuttle and went exploring around Boracay. We found the Fish Spa and we paid for 1 person and the second was fee, I was freaked and it just seemed so gross that these big fish were full on feet! Yuk!! I paid up and Sam and I both went-tickles and also feels so freaky as they are sucking all over your feet!
